PAPA Awards Scotland Regional Heat at Mamma’s American Pizza
The 28th Annual PAPA Awards have been launched to showcase the finest pizza, pasta and Italian food businesses across the country. This year we will also be celebrating the Pizza Pasta & Italian Food Association’s 40th Anniversary!
The competition is held in conjunction with the existing quest for Pasta Chef of the Year and takes in five regional heats and then a Grand Final.
From 10:00am on Tuesday 3 October Mamma’s American Pizza will host Scotland’s regional heat in Edinburgh to have a chance to enter Pizza Chef of the Year Grand Final in London on 16 November 2017.
The Pizza Chef of the Year competition offers to more than 20 participants from Scotland the chance to receive considerable publicity and prestige for them and their business, by winning a regional category and ultimately the overall title of Pizza Chef of the Year. In addition, there’s ample opportunity to network with colleagues and suppliers in the industry, test their creativity and innovation and showcase the winning pizzas on their menu.
The Competition: Contestants are required to design a pizza recipe around a specific sponsor’s product in at least two of the six competition categories:
- Euro Pizza Products Frozen Dough Pizza Chef of the Year
- Extons Mozzarella Pizza Chef of the Year
- Norseland Cheese Pizza Chef of the Year
- Sam Browne Foods Pizza Chef of the Year
- Supertops Pizza Chef of the Year
- Whitworth Bros Pizza Flour Pizza Chef of the Year
The heat winners will compete at the final taking place at The European Pizza and Pasta Show – Olympia on Thursday 16 th November and will also receive 2 tickets for the awards ceremony taking place the same evening at The Hotel Lancaster. The overall winner of The Pizza Chef of the Year and the Pasta Chef of the Year Competition will each receive a Trophy and a cheque for £500.
